Jastine Valdez came to this world with a dream of making it her home. She had moved half way across the globe from an entirely different culture and language to be with her parents in Ireland. But sadly, her story ended in tragedy when she was viciously taken from this world too soon.
On May 19th 2018, Jastine Valdez was abducted while walking near her home in Enniskerry, County Wicklow. Her disappearance sparked a huge search by both police and local volunteers that spread throughout Ireland. The investigation revealed little evidence, until on May 24th, suspect Mark Hennessy was tracked down by police in Cherrywood Industrial Estate and fatally shot after he threatened them with a knife. It was later revealed that he was responsible for Jastine’s abduction and subsequent death.
The events surrounding the abduction and death of Jastine Valdez are heartbreaking and shocking . To memorialize Jastine’s life as well as shed light on her story, I have released two true crime documentaries dedicated to telling her story: one released on Friday and another on Sunday.
