Over the years, Vatican has been criticized for its involvement into the rise of Nazi Germany. When it comes to Vatican and Nazi Germany, Pope Pius XII is always the first to come in mind.
He was the one who negotiated and signed “The Reichskonkordat”, a treaty between Vatican and Nazi Germany. The treaty was signed on July 20, 1933, and guarantees the rights of the Roman Catholic Church in Germany.
The document is one of the most controversial that the Vatican negotiated, and it is frequently discussed in works that deal with the rise of Hitler. According to some experts, the treaty gave moral legitimacy to the Nazi regime soon after Hitler had acquired quasi-dictatorial powers through the Enabling Act of 1933. Rome basically became the first legal partner of Hitler.
This documentary also explores topics like Catholic symbols and Nazi symbols, money trails, Gold, and much more.
