A film unfinished is a powerful documentary which is focused on another documentary produced by the Nazis, titled “Das Ghetto” and it was about the Warsaw Ghetto. The film was discovered after the war and it was unfinished and had no soundtrack, and only one copy of the Nazi propaganda film shot by the Nazis in Warsaw Ghetto in May 1942, the footage was only one year before the uprising, the duration of the film was 60 minutes and it was labeled “Ghetto”.
Yael Hersonski, the maker of “A Film Unfinished”, will show you the interviews with Willy Wist, the only cinematographer who was identified, working on the production of “Das Ghetto”, and he will show the film to the people who lived there while it has been filmed. They filmed the lives of poor and rich Jewish people and how they move and what they do, it was all a Nazi propaganda filming and tons of video materials were burned, but this one was untouched in the East German archive. This film was supported by the Joan S. Constantier Fund for Jewish and Holocaust Film.
