Across the United States, far-right vigilante groups continue to train for violent confrontation, convinced of their mission to protect their country against perceived internal enemies. Their provocative actions have sparked fear and outrage among those who support civil rights and social justice.
Some militias are even planning kidnappings, with the goal of bringing back former President Donald Trump to power. These groups carry their firearms in public, openly intimidating those who disagree with their politics. Meanwhile, some of these groups have appointed themselves as “peacekeepers” during Black Lives Matter rallies, which has only increased tensions in already volatile situations.
