This documentary is about the Asiatic lions, which are completely different from African lions, both in appearance and behavior, but are growing in India. His refuge is the Gir forest in Gujarat, and in the last 100 years their numbers have grown from 20 to over 300.
These lions are now spreading beyond the protection of the National Park to recover the lost territory and colonize new habitats. It is a story of the conservation of rare success but poses new challenges to the lions, naturalists and foresters.
