Michal Vana is a former football player from Czechoslovakia, who played professionally in Europe and Asia. He was part of the Singapore M-League, which won the 1994 Malaysia Cup.
But he disappeared mid-season, due to allegations of being a match fixer. He was arrested and charged with six counts of match-fixing.
Vana managed to escape the country before he could be tried in court, leaving on a different passport after his original one had been confiscated. He left on an Indonesian fishing boat, and with the policy on his tail.
This is the story of the football fugitive.
