Chuck is also the founder of the Atlantic Philanthropies, one of the largest private charitable foundations in the world. As of December 2020, his net worth is just $1.5 million.
But that is because he donated most of his earnings. For the first 15 years of his philanthropic mission, Feeney donated money in secret. Many called him the James Bond of philanthropy.
Feeney emerged from anonymity in 1997. He achieved his lifetime mission of giving away his fortune, all while being alive to see the impact it made. In total, he donated more than $8 billion.
