In Rwanda, young entrepreneurs are determined to revolutionize the country’s healthcare system. Although Rwanda boasts of having one of the best healthcare systems in Africa, many Rwandans still lack access to medical care – especially in rural areas. In the aftermath of the 1994 genocide, trauma continues to haunt the land and mental health issues remain neglected.
Our founders are convinced that innovative technologies can help bridge the gap and make a real difference. Founder’s Valley explores the struggles and victories of these startup founders as they work towards making healthcare accessible to all who need it. With nearly 90 percent of Rwandans now covered by community-based health insurance, will the entrepreneurs succeed in delivering much-needed medical care to underserved populations? Watch the film by Gönna Ketels and Ndimbira Shenge Claudine to find out.
