What is now a small village in India, was once a capital of an empire stretching across the whole of Southern India. Such is the story of Hampi, a small village in India that today serves only as a memory to the empire.
Now, the ancient city is in ruins, and has little defense against the invading forces of development. In the past 15 years, tourism in the village has grown by 75%, to the point it threatens the local community’s way of life. The question is whether tourism and money from it are enough to threaten the rich history and tradition of the village?
Not only is the village locals threatened, but also the rich diversity of wildlife that lives nearby. One man by the name of Bobby Valabhchandra has turned a large swathe of land into a nature reserve. His goal is to conserve the unique landscape in the face of globalization.
This documentary shows his struggle and battle, and also features some amazing footage of leopards, crocodiles, wild bears, and many other animals living in wildlife.
