In a remote region of Nepal, the people of Gorkha fight against the perils of the monsoon season every year. The mountainous terrain and the heavy rainfalls of the monsoon cut off villages for many long months, making it hard for trucks and mule caravans to provide for the stranded inhabitants.
Despite the difficulties, some brave drivers risk their lives to transport people and goods along the treacherous roads between the villages of Gorkha and Arkhet. During the monsoon season, mud ditches form and trap vehicles, making it hard for drivers to reach their destination. But the drivers persevere, fighting for every extra kilometer they can get on the road.
In the midst of this struggle for survival, the young truck driver Maëlla and her family work every day in the paddy fields to harvest rice, just to make ends meet. And the Shaman witch doctors are always on hand to chase away bad spirits and watch over the meager population of Nepal.
