Chengdu is the capital of southwestern China’s Sichuan province. The history of the city dates back to at least the 4th century BC, when it served as the capital for the Shu Kingdom.
The city is home to so many things, including the famous Chengdu research base of Giant Panda Breeding.
But it is also home to one of the most beautiful streets in the world, the Jiinli street. Beautiful throughout the entire year, it shows its full radiant display during the Chinese New Year. This beautiful place to visit after dusk is illuminated by traditional Chinese lanterns, making it ideal walking street for romantics.
With that in mind, it was all made possible thanks to the Silk Road. Chengdu became one of the trade hubs, providing tourists and travelers ways to visit the city. This documentary explores the impact the city has on Chinese economy.
