Meet Xulwi, an exceptional Guajajara warrior living on a reservation on the edge of Brazil’s Amazon region. From a young age, Xulwi has been fighting against illegal logging that plagues his land and harms the environment. But for Xulwi, resistance is not just a battle, it’s a way of life.
Illegal loggers in the Amazon region are often heavily armed and far from scared. Over 60 Guajajara warriors have been killed trying to defend their land. And yet, the community is neglected by the state, with little political influence to make their voices heard. But Xulwi, along with other Guajajara warriors, remains committed to protecting their home and will stop at nothing to keep fighting.
