In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the opening of the iconic German design school, bauhausWORLD is a three-part documentary series that explores and commemorates the legacy of the Bauhaus. With a team of filmmakers travelling across the globe, we are introduced to the architects, artists, and designers who’ve continued to shape and influence the world thanks to the radical teachings of the Bauhaus school.
Throughout the series, we are taken on a journey through time and space, from Germany’s legendary Weimar and Berlin locations to Tokyo, Tel Aviv, and New York. They sit down with some of the most brilliant creative minds like Norman Foster and Tatiana Bilbao, furniture designer Yinka Ilori and fashion designer Kasia Kucharska to explore how the Bauhaus school’s commitment to modern design still continues to influence art, architecture, and design. The documentary also explores how the Bauhaus philosophy and its utopian ideals have evolved into our globalized society and invites us to experience the world around us through a new set of eyes.
