In December 2010, urban historian Steve Duncan and I embarked on an adventurous and historical journey through the underground of New York City. Our goal was to traverse from one end of the city to the other via its many maze-like tunnel networks. Starting in the Bronx, we made our way underneath New York City until we eventually reached Jamaica Bay in Queens, where the Atlantic Ocean awaited us.
During our travels, we were offered insight into New York City’s past, as well as a rare glimpse into a world largely unseen by most New Yorkers. As we explored these subterranean depths we saw relics left behind from centuries past that were still present today. From forgotten subway stations to underground rivers and streams, there was no shortage of sights to be seen along our journey.
We documented this incredible expedition in a documentary film aptly titled “Underground” which is now available for viewing on streaming services around the world. If you’re looking for an intriguing adventure with plenty of history and excitement along the way, then Underground is a must-watch! Through this film you can experience all that Steve Duncan and I did throughout our travels beneath New York City; from exploring forgotten subway tunnels to discovering artifacts belonging to generations before us.
So if you’re ready for an unforgettable journey through time in an unknown world below NYC, check out Underground today – you won’t be disappointed!
